New Co-CEO at the VEWH

The VEWH is excited to announce the appointment of Paulo Lay to the position of Co-CEO. Paulo will work with Co-CEO Sarina Loo, replacing Beth Ashworth as she starts her maternity leave.

Paulo joins the VEWH most recently from Water and Catchments at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

He has a wealth of knowledge with more than 20 years’ experience in water resource management, including water policy, waterway and environmental water management and stakeholder collaboration and engagement.

In recent times Paulo led the ground-breaking Victorian Aboriginal Water Program and was the Co-Director responsible for Basin Plan coordination and implementation.

Starting his career as an Environmental Flows policy officer, Paulo has seen many changes and growth in the environmental water portfolio.

“I am keen to re-acquaint myself with the many partners and stakeholders across the environmental watering program and to play my part in restoring the health of our waterways for our communities,” Paulo said.

Co-CEO Sarina Loo is looking forward to Paulo joining the VEWH family.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Paulo over the next 12 months. He has a fantastic depth of experience which will be of great value to the VEWH,” Sarina said.

We welcome Paulo to the role of Co-CEO and wish Beth and her family all the best for the healthy arrival of their new family member.
